Another fantastic holliday, arranged by Jensen Safaris

September 2005. Our third trip to South Africa

Together on the journey:
Lone ( my daughter ) and Anders, newly wed
Allan ( my son )
Else Marie og Bent

Travel Route:
Billund
Frankfurt
Johannesburg

The trip was created as a " Drive on your own " holliday. We received 2 cars at Budget Carhire in Johannesburg
Lone and I were drivers.
First stop by Holger Jensen in Pretoria, where we spent 2 nights. One day was used to catch up on Pretoria, and se Union Building and Voertrekker Monument, that we missed on our 2 earlier trips
We also visited a nearby shopping center where " Ocean Basket " served us an exciting " Seafood Platte " Very good !!

Next stop was Kings Walden Lodge, located in an aerea named Tzaneen. That is a place with an incredible sole, for my inner eye I see, Beautifull people walking hand in hand in the park. The men dressed in black suits and carying high hats, and in the hand they have a walking stick with silver handle, the women are dressed in large white dresses, and enormous hats, and on their arm there is an ambrella to protect against the hot burning African sun.
To sit in the morning sun an enjoy ones breakfast, overlooking the valley and mountains is breathtaking.

Thereafter our next stop was Kruger National park. Overnight in Letaba Camp, Satara Camp and Skukuza Camp. Great nature and a great lot of game spotting. Once again we succeded in spotting " The Big Five " that is lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinosserous and lepard. Allan tried to sleep in a tent in Skukuza Camp. We also used a swimming pool quite often at that place.

From Kruger Park we had a long drive, almost whole day,  to Pilanesberg National Park, We stayed at Manyana Gate Resort, where we had 2 nights. First day Else Marie and I were " First at gate " ( at 05,45 hours ) which is a MUST if you want to se the sun get up and the park to awake.

Anders, Lone og Allan used a whole day to a visit at Sun City. They had a fantastic time, and joined both casino, cinema og variete.

One of the best events on our trip was an Elephant Back Safari, arranged by " Game Trackers " It was an expencive, but all the money worth expierence. Amasing to be that close to the large animals, and hear about their different way of thinking. Great - try that !!

The hometrip to Pretoria went past Hartbeespoort Dam, where we visited the biggest market, that we have seen in South Africa. You can find almost anything, If you go to South Africa, don´t miss this Market.

Before starting our home trip, we were offered a couple og hours at Holger Jensen´s place in Pretoria. We had two rooms to relax in, before we continued to Johannesburg and the flight to Denmark

Evaluation: A most successfull trip. Very well arrangec with a good mix of animals, people and breathtaking nature.

Thank You very much, and " See You "
